Firehouse Chili and Cornbread Casserole

To start our journey into making chili even more delicious, we brown our ground beef in a large pot with an array of spices, onion, and poblano pepper. Fire-roasted tomatoes are added and we start the simmering process before kidney beans are added to the mix. Now our traditional process takes a turn--we transfer as much chili as will fit into a deep baking dish and top it with a blend of corn muffin mix, milk, egg, and Cheddar cheese by the spoonful. Our masterpiece goes into a preheated oven until our crust is crisp and browned, and then voila! Ladle into serving bowls and prepare for compliments.
