I love this recipe since I make it for company and instead of cooking all morning, I can make it, put it all in the over, then we all eat at the same time - including me, YEA!

The "batter" is how my grandmother, mother, and so I as well have always made French toast. We never measure(d) the ingredients though. I will try the oven though--even though it adds time from the griddle. Strange--I didn't realize there was a wrong way.
