Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade

In this video, you’ll see how to make a traditional Japanese teriyaki sauce that’s also a terrific marinade. Garlic, minced fresh ginger, and red pepper flakes combine with Japanese sweet rice wine (mirin), soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sugar to create a tangy, slightly spicy sauce. Try it with chicken, pork, salmon, beef, or tofu. You should be able to find mirin in the international section of most grocery stores, but if you can’t, sherry is a good substitute. Watch the video, then get Celeste's top-rated recipe for Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade. Give it a try; it might be the best teriyaki you’ll ever have.

She brushed it on the meat and then into the jar over and over. ICKY!!!! Do not do that unless you just want to throw it all out. Use a portion in a separate container and get more if needed. Don't contaminate the entire container!!! Very bad example everyone. You can't keep it if you do that. Otherwise, great recipe. Since it is a salt and sugar mix, about a week. Otherwise freeze it. Garlic is know to cause serious health issues if not canned properly. Health safety is very important!

How long will this Teriyaki sauce keep in the fridge? When should it be thrown out if storing in fridge?

Cant wait to try to make homemade teriyaki sauce. We use the jarred sauce a lot in our house but this is so easy to do yourself. Another must try this week!
