Whenever a recipe calls for garlic and olive oil, I used minced garlic in oil from the asian market. Such a time saver, still all the taste, but less "sharp".

I vastly prefer fresh garlic. It's better for you, and doesn't have the slight bitter aftertaste of the powdered. If it's a bit too strong for you, try letting the minced garlic sit in the lemon (or limes) juice for a period before using it in the recipe.
