I like to boil the potatoes, then put them in the fridge until they are cold, then add the condiments. And you can boil the eggs with the potatoes to save dirty pots. I use this method when I can't finish the salad right away, and b/ c you can't blend mayo with anything still hot. Another variation of this is to use either French or Catalina dressing with mayo. This was my mom's idea.

This is exactly how I've always made my (my mother's) potato salad. As far as peeling eggs, I agree with Yogesh & Patricia...use 2 week old eggs, but the simplest way to peel and doesn't involve another utensil would be to simply pour off the hot water, cool a bit with cold water, pour that off and place the lid back on the pan and shake the eggs right in the pan...some of the shells will come off by themselves...very simple!

This sounds good to me, minus the garlic powder. It's important to add the other ingredients to the potatoes while they're still hot (as the video shows). That way, the potatoes absorb the flavors much better.
