Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread
Delicioso! Made using bread machine and normal oven, also usable without bread machine. Like a giant Cinnamon bun.
Chef John's Hot Cross Buns
Real hot cross buns have the cross baked into them, not piped on afterwards. These are studded with rum-soaked currants. I based my recipe on one I found on Anson Mills' web site.
Monkey Bread Muffins
Easy refrigerated biscuit dough monkey bread cooked in muffin pans. My son who calls these 'monkey sins' loves to be in charge of shaking the biscuit pieces with the spiced sugar. I love that I can make a few of these at a time and eat them warm without waiting for a large enough crowd to justify a tube pan full.
Blueberry Buttermilk Coffeecake
Simple, delicious coffee cake recipe that my mom made for company. I took the basic recipe and added blueberries.
Ellen's Lemon Zucchini Bread
This is THE BEST lemon zucchini bread I've ever baked or tasted. The recipe came from a friend of my mom's. She kept raving about this bread that she had made while she was visiting. After I made it the first time I can understand why. If I don't put this in the freezer right away, it is gone!!! Butter is really good on this bread if you aren't worried about the calories, fat, etc.
Grandma's English Muffin Bread
Like english muffins, slices of this bread must be toasted to taste right. Grandma used to bake this in large greased cans coated with cornmeal, which added to the english muffin appearance. Today she uses non-stick pans.
Breakfast Bread
It is a dense bread that is wonderful as toast, French toast, or for sandwiches.
Biscuits
I saw these being made on a cooking show on PBS they are very tender and buttery. You can freeze in muffin tins and pop in oven when needed.
Air Fryer Mini Blueberry Scones
Mini blueberry scones sprinkled with a sugary orange topping are easy to make in your air fryer and will delight your brunch guests in just 30 minutes.
Irish Soda Farls
Soda bread dough is flattened into a round circle, and divided into farls meaning 4 parts. It is then cooked on a dry griddle or pan. Traditionally this was the quickest way to make soda bread for unexpected guests who drop by for a bit of craic (good fun). It's best eaten fresh with butter and jam but is also delicious fried as part of an Ulster breakfast.
Chocolate Babka
Of all of the breads I've baked, my friends love this one the most. It's soft and moist, and the chocolate just melts in your mouth when you bite into a slice. I hope you'll like it as much as we do!
Crumpets
My local grocery store quit selling crumpets, so I decided to try my hand at making my own! These are a nice alternative to English muffins. To serve, toast the crumpets whole and spread with butter, honey, jelly, or your favorite topping.
