I gave this 3 stars for the recipe as is. But after I added 1/4 teaspoon each of pumpkin spice cinnamon and nutmeg I give it 5 stars!! Absolutely scrumptious!!
I doubled this recipe and used it to icing 6 dozen pumpkin cookies I made. The icing was smooth and had great taste. I did add a extra 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. I got the pumpking cookie recipe from this web site.
Delicious Icing!!! It doesn't take a lot of ingredients and can be used on a number of different baking treats. I would up the amount of cream cheese depending on which item you're frosting. I used this for Applesauce Cake V so I used more cream cheese to make it firmer and have more cream cheese taste.
Great recipe and so so simple... I added 1 tsp of cinnamon to give it a little kick and topped my pumpkin spice cake with it:)
Made it with the pumpking bars and it was yummy. I doubled the recipe for the two 13x9 pan's.

I made this to frost pumpkin pie squares and it was a hit. I added 1 tbsp of milk to make sure the frosting stayed creamy rather than too firm because I made it the night before. Was wonderful I sprinkled orange sugar sprinkles over the top.
Very good quick and easy! Added a bit of cinnamon which changed the color a bit but it turned out very well!
If you are looking for cream cheese icing this isn't it. It's more like cream cheese frosting. I added a lot more cream cheese to make it more like the classic icing your grandma makes.
