Directions

Instructions Checklist
  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the egg noodles, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  • Beat the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl. Stir in the noodles. Pour the noodle mixture in the prepared baking pan. Pour the melted butter over the noodles, then top with the coconut.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until the noodles are set and the coconut is golden brown, about 1 hour.

I have not had Kugel before so I made this per the recipe but used wide noodles instead of fine and it was really good. The noodles were tender and the dish had just the right amount of sweetness. Read More

It tasted indescribable. I am sure that it is a family fave for some but we did not enjoy this at all. Perhaps using more sugar will help. I will try again. Read More

Tasty and super easy to make. Instead of egg noodles I had a ton of leftover spaghetti that I used. Will definitely make again. Read More

I used wide noodles instead of fine noodles and sweetened coconut instead of shredded coconut. Also I mixed in some of the sweetened coconut into the mix before I poured it into the pan. Then I put the rest of the coconut on top. Read More
