Made this exactly as written (I believe if you are going to rate something you must make it that way). Great flavor, however I like peppered jerky, next time I will add lots of pepper. First to the marinade, then again after I put it on the racks. All in all, a great starter to model to your own taste.
I'm not quite sure how it tastes yet (I'll update as it's done) but the smell of it is heavenly. It was very easy to put together and now the hard part is waiting for it to cook! Update: Absolutely love it. Didn't change a thing and it's wonderful. The flavor is great but I wouldn't call it the "store bought" taste.
This is my go to marinade to make beef jerky very simple to make. I have tried different options instead of using 1 tablespoon of paprika I put 1 teaspoon of paprika and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. I’ve also sprinkled fresh ground pepper as well.
