I didn't have any French bread so I just put the bananas between two pieces of regular bread. It worked fairly well but the French bread would work better.
This recipe was great! I left out the orange zest and liquor and put cinnamon powder in there instead. It was wonderful!!!
These are sooo goooood. I did not follow the recipe exactly because I did not have all the ingredient on hand. I skipped the zest and liquor. I use evaporated milk and egg dash of vanilla and cinnamon lightly soak the banana stuffed french bread in the mixture (more like dip two side and let them sit for a few mins coz I dont like soggy mushy french toast) cook them on butter and sprinkle them with powder sugar. VERY YUMMY even with my not so professional version. Just imagine with EVERYTHING the ingredient call for!
My family loved this recipe! I used almond liqueur instead of the orange (it was what I had)and left out the orange zest. It was beautiful and got cheers all around! Thanks:-)
My family requests this breakfast dish every Christmas. Easy to make smells so delicious cooking and it is so rich and filling!
I've made this twice- once without zest and once with texas toast bread- both times it was fantastic! My husband son and I all love it.
This was a great french toast recipe even without the bananas. I made a few slices with the bananas and a few without and they both were excellent. The banana filled slices were good but but I actually preferred the ones I made plain. I just added a little nutmeg and cinnamon and excluded the orange liqueur and zest and it came out fantastic. I will definitely make this recipe again.
This recipe caught my eye as I was trying to come up with crowd pleasing recipes to make during our vacation. I didn't have the liqueur and subbed the orange with lemon zest. Along with the banana I also stuffed the bread with cream cheese and added cinnamon to the egg mixture. Lots of smiling faces that morning Sher! Thanks so much!!
This was very tasty. Also easy to put together. Made the perfect Father's Day Brunch. Served with Praline Maple Syrup. I will make it again. Thanks for the post!
I didn't care for this recipe. I will never make it again.
