Clementine-Jalapeno-Cranberry Relish

This clementine relish is sweet, sour, and savory. You can garnish with roasted chopped walnuts or pecans.

  • 2 pounds fresh cranberries

  • 7 clementines, zested and juiced

  • 1 large jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced

  • 1 ½ cups water

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves


  1. Combine cranberries, clementines, jalapeno, water, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, black pepper, and cloves in a saute pot and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring every 4 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat, pour into desired serving dish, and chill until the temperature reaches 40 degrees F (4 degrees C) or below.
