I also had my dad in mind when I thought of this, because he loves Sloppy Joes. I knew he would just love this and he did. It is another recipe that I just thought of... View All Saved Items Rate Print Share Share Tweet Pin Email Prep Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins Total Time: 30 mins Servings: 6 Yield: 6 sandwiches Jump to Nutrition Facts Ingredients 1 ½ pounds ground beef ½ medium onion, diced ½ medium green bell pepper, diced 1 pinch dried Italian seasoning, or more to taste salt to taste 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained 1 (14 ounce) jar pasta sauce 6 medium hamburger buns, split 6 slices shredded mozzarella cheese Directions Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef, onion, bell pepper, Italian seasoning, and salt in the hot skillet until beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in pasta sauce, cover, and cook until sauce has reduced slightly, 5 to 10 minutes longer. Serve Sloppy Joe mixture on hamburger buns with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
