Add orecchiette and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, 9 to 12 minutes. Meanwhile, combine cream and onion in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Simmer for 2 minutes and remove from heat. Gently stir salmon, Parmesan cheese, capers, butter, and parsley into the cream mixture and serve over pasta.
