Rub the rim of a glass with lime wedge, then dip the rim in salt to coat. Combine ice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and sugar in a blender; blend on the highest setting until slushy, 15 to 20 seconds. Pour into the prepared glass. Cook's Notes: Any orange-flavored liqueur can be used in place of triple sec. To serve on the rocks, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and sugar in a cocktail shaker instead of a blender; shake for 20 to 30 seconds and pour into an ice-filled glass.
