  • Pour evaporated milk into a small saucepan; add vanilla extract. Stir in sweetener. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, to allow alcohol in extract to cook off, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from the burner and let cool before using, or place in an airtight container and refrigerate.

Imitation vanilla extract can be used instead of pure.

I like that this recipe is sugar-free and low in calories. I used homemade vanilla, doubling the amount. Those little black beans from the vanilla pods add so much flavor. Thanks for the recipe. Read More
