  1. Combine butter, sugar, and unsweetened chocolate in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer on high speed until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating for 5 minutes after each addition. Fold in whipped topping. Transfer to pie crust and top with chocolate shavings.
