  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  • Slice tortillas with a pizza cutter into desired sizes.

  • Fry 1/2 of the tortillas in the hot oil until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

Few ingredients but these go from not near done enough to overdone in a matter of seconds so they take constant babysitting. If you are wanting chips to go along with Hamburger Helper as suggested, I recommend buying a bag of chips. If you do decide to make your own, I recommend keeping them submerged in the oil and not letting them float as they naturally do for an overall even browning/crispness. Read More
