A French toast recipe without the milk for those who like a more solid French toast. My son's friends liked this recipe and would ask for the recipe to take home for their moms to make. Serve with butter and syrup.

Instructions Checklist
  • Beat eggs in a mixing bowl. Add sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg; mix.

  • Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat and melt butter.

  • Dip slices of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are covered. Cook 2 slices at a time in the skillet until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Serve warm.

Cook's Notes:

I use a farmer's white bread or Texas toast.

You can use brown sugar instead of white for a change.

You may need to stir the mixture before dipping the third and fourth slices as the spices may clump together.
