  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.

  • Crush saltine crackers either with your hands in a bowl or with a food processor. Add sugar and salt; mix. Mix in butter, followed by honey. Press crust into the prepared pie pan using a measuring cup.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden and set, about 16 minutes. Remove from the oven and while crust is still fairly hot, use the measuring cup to re-form as crust will fall down while baking. Let cool before adding a filling of your choice.

Cook's Note:

You can use corn syrup instead of honey.

I must have doen something wrong... I think I crushed my crackers too much and added too much butter .. the dough was thick and after 17 minutes it was just a thick doughy mass in the bottom of my pan. I think it would work fine without the corn syrup... regular Graham cracker crusts do not call for it so I'm not sure it's purpose. I'll try it again and measure more precisely and leave out the corn syrup. Read More

LOVE IT! however, I must say it didnt hold up at all, but! after it all crumbled I added a little bit of corn syrup , a pinch of salt and granulated sugar and spread the crumbs in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. I baked them at 350 F until golden brown. Very toasty. OMG what a yummy delish crumb! I made some cupcakes with guava filling, cream cheese icing and topped with these toasted saltine crumbs and everybody raved about the crumbs! I also ate them by themselves like a snack so good!
