One of the most delicious apple breads I have ever tasted. It is so unique because it has streusel on both the top and the bottom. The apples are shredded, which makes the bread very moist. Be prepared because everyone will ask you for the recipe!

  • Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Add sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add grated apples and chopped nuts. Mix until combined. Set aside.

  • Mix sugar, cinnamon, and flour for the streusel. Cut in butter until little pea-sized balls come together. Place 1/2 of the streusel on the bottom of the pan. Pour in batter; top with remaining streusel.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 60 to 75 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

This is very good. I had no trouble with it sticking to the pan.Next time I will skip the bottom strusel and put it all on top. Read More

Pretty good, maybe a little less time in the oven or a lower temp, strudel got a little dark. Read More

This has potential, but it was lacking any apple flavor. Adding chunks of apple will help this a lot. It was super moist and the streusel was delicious. A good start as-is, but needs some work to be a good apple bread. Read More

I liked the taste as the bread was very moist. My only difficulty was when I let it cool for 10 minutes after baking and went to turn it onto a plate the streusel stuck to the bottom every time. I did use Crisco and flour before putting the batter in the pan. The pan was a no stick load pan that was dark in color. Read More

Apple bread very good but streusel on bottom of pan not so much. I let it cool completely in the load pan and when I tried to get it out, it literally was "cemented" in the bottom? Not sure why since it was well greased. I felt the streusel on the bottom didn't add anything special and would probably just do it all on top and avoid problems. I did up vanilla extract to 1 tsp. and omitted the nuts. Used raisins instead but don't think they added anything so would probably make again without them. I used lt. brown sugar for the streusel mixture instead of the white sugar. All in all I would make again with my changes mentioned. Read More
