One-Pot Shrimp Scampi Orzo
A different take on classic shrimp scampi, this dish is cooked in one pot and is ready in under 45 minutes. Serve with a side salad, if desired.

I made this during COVID-19 stay at home orders. I decided to use whatever was in my pantry. So I had red onions and spinach instead of peas. I also used whatever white wine I was currently drinking. I didn't have chicken stock, I had vegetable broth. This was so good! I wish I had mushrooms to go along with it. and really quick too. I love spicy foods, so once it was done I threw in some sliced jalapenos and a dash of Cholula. Definitely a repeat dish! I wish i had a photo, but we inhaled it so fast there is nothing but an empty dish.

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures because it disappeared immediately after I was done making it. Very delicious. I also quadrupled the recipe because I knew it was going to go fast. Definitely a keeper.
I followed the recipe except no onions. I did double it plus more shrimp. It was easy and excellent. Had plenty left over so the next night with hubby's suggestion added chicken broth and we had shrimp orzo soup. Next time we are trying with scallops. Definitely a keeper
I thought this was a great recipe. I substituted yellow squash and zucchini for the peas. Turned out great!
This is delicious! I used preserved lemons and their juice instead of lemon zest. I also used the shells to make a quick shrimp stock (can be done in the microwave with water ,salt, and shells). It does make it a more than one-pot meal, but the briny flavor in the pasta sauce is out of this world!
This is a super fast and easy recipe and delish!! (even when you do make it with Aboro Rice in error!! Still fab!!). I added more garlic, peas and onions and topped with shaved Parmesan - it was sooooo good! I also made it in the Pressure cooker - did the aboro for 4 minutes on manuel. I'll sooo make this (error!) again!
I made this exactly as the recipe called for, which I do for all my first-time recipe tries. My husband, who does not like lemony anything, actually loved this dish. The lemon flavor is light and delicate, not overpowering. The presence of the orzo helps mediate the lemony aspects beautifully. This was an easy-to-prepare dish with a lovely presentation, one I will feel happy to serve to guests anytime.
I followed the recipie and the dish is very tasty. I will make it again.
absolutely loved this dish. did not make any changes at all and would definitely make it again
Changed Lemon for Lime other than that I followed the instructions. And would definitely make again.
I doubled the recipe for my family except for the onions. Loved it. It was easy to make.
Annoying as reviews on changed recipes are, I am sure pleased I chose this one after finally finding faux shrimp! Switched in veggie broth, added spinach, and some nutritional yeast, being low on parmasean (to amp the cheese flavour) quite delicious!
I made it with cooked brown and red rice because I didn't have any orzo - it turned out great. Planning on using some fresh-frozen sole and trying again (got to use what we have on hand these days).
Made as written and, honestly, I think I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. Sooo good, thank you!
Didn't add the onion (family member doesn't like them). Switched fresh asparagus for the thawed peas (needed to be used). Used 1 1/2 cups of water and shrimp ramen seasoning packet for the wine (don't drink alcohol) & chicken broth. Mom even gave it her approval & dad had seconds which never happens.
Made it, great flavor! Didn't have white wine, so I deglazed with diluted dry Vermouth -I think I will use it in the future as the flavor of the dish was excellent. I believe I will slightly reduce the amount of liquid in future efforts as well.
I made it! Wonderful and easy. Sorry didn't take a picture
I left out the red pepper flakes because we don't like hot foods and it turned out good but I want to find something to add some more flavor. Maybe using lemon pepper instead of just regular pepper next time.
I did not have shrimp, so instead I used scallops. I put a quick char on the scallops, put them aside and then added back to finish cooking in the oven. It was delicious
My wife doubled the recipe except for the pinch of red pepper flakes. (a little is enough heat for us!) She will definitely make this recipe again and we will share it! Toasting the orzo gives some great flavor to this dish. Please don't skip this step or you'll miss out!
Delicious! Light and the right amount of flavor. I'm not a huge fan of plain ol' shrimp scampi. It's ok, just not my favorite. I came across this recipe and it sounded just like what I was wanting. It took a few weeks to actually make it, due to various reasons. It didn't disappoint. Will definitely make again.
I did not add peas. Great flavor! The toasted orzo added good depth of flavor.
I put a little too much crushed red pepper in it which made it a bit spicy but otherwise liked this recipe.
I left out the red pepper flakes, used bottled lemon juice and dried parsley with whole wheat orzo pasta. I loved it!! I also liked that it only made 2 servings as I made it for myself. Was really good!
I knew I wouldn't like all that onion in this dish so I replaced it with two cloves of minced garlic. Great. Thanks for the shrimp/orzo com
Made it was great, but instead or Orono. Made with linguine. Forgot to take a pic
Super easy and delicious! I used about a Tblsp of lemon zest because I got a little zest crazy. Made it super lemony but I thought it was great. And browning the orzo in the pan like that, yum!!! Even the teen liked it, and much like Mikey - she hates everything, lol.
I haven’t actually tried it yet, but my family loved it. I omitted the peas and served green beans on the side, and I added 1/2 lb of Patagonia scallops. Having adjusted the recipe to serve 6, I didn’t have enough chicken broth, so I combined veggie broth to make the 3 3/4 cups it called for. I think this is the first time my attempt at making scampi has actually worked out well!
Delishous.
Delicious but I toasted my orzo too long but was still good.
I added more wine and added more lemon juice right before serving. Would make it again.
The only change I did was I used quinoa instead of orzo since the store did not have any orzo at the time! However, I was able to have my daughter buy orzo recently, and will try it again using orzo. I am pretty sure it will be tasty, since even with the quinoa it was very good. Thank you for the recipe.
this was delish, l used asparagus instead of peas and stir fried them in a little oov. l saved the dips as garnish on top of the dish. l doubled the recipe because l served it for company. They are still raving about how delish and light it was
I've made this recipe MANY times and love it. It's so easy and delicious. I use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth and omit the garlic because I am allergic to it.
I didn't have any peas, but followed the rest of the recipe and it came out delicious! Great dish and I will make this again. Here's a pic I took of it.
