  • Combine butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until melted, about 5 minutes. Whisk in white sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Turn off the heat.

  • Whisk in eggs, 1 at a time. Stir in flour and cocoa powder until mixture is well combined. Fold in chopped cookies. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with crushed cookies.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs, about 35 minutes. Place on a wire rack until completely cool, about 30 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, whisk powdered sugar and milk together in a small bowl until mixture has reached a drizzling consistency. Drizzle glaze over the top of the brownies.

Absolutely decadent but sooo good. Cut sugar to 2 cups because only had semisweet chocolate squares on hand, otherwise followed exactly. Cut brownies in smaller squares as they are very rich. This recipe will feed a crowd! Thank you. Read More

It didn't register to me because I was happy I finally got the ingredients I needed to make these with the virus scare going on now...we didn't go to the grocery often. BUT I followed the recipe...I thought 3 cups of sugar sounded like a lot but I haven't made brownies from scratch in a while....and now I realize my suspicions were right. They did not bake right. Lots to thin and didn't get done. I left in 15 more minutes but still too thin. I'm taking them from oven hoping as they cool we can do something with a 13' pan of soogy brownies...on ice cream maybe. I checked other recipes and even half of this would be more than most recipes call for. I even spread marshmallow on top since my husband was so excited for these and not planning to make the glaze..
