  • Heat tortillas in a large skillet or directly on grates of a gas stove until soft and pliable. Place 1/3 cup chicken mixture down the center of each tortilla and top with a heaping tablespoon of Mexican cheese. Fold top and bottom of tortillas over the filling, then roll each into a burrito shape. Mist with cooking spray and place in the basket of an air fryer.

  • Air fry at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 4 to 6 minutes. Flip each chimichanga over, mist with cooking spray, and air fry until lightly browned, 2 to 4 minutes more.

Cook's Note:

Regular cream cheese can be used in place of Neufchatel cheese.

A wicked winner in my house!!!! I used jalapeños instead of chilies since the store didn’t have chilies. I had queso from Costco to put on top and everyone really liked them!!! This recipe will now join our meal favorites!!! Thank you so much!!!! Read More

This was the bomb! Everyone in my family loved it. I did have to reduce cooking time just a bit with my air fryer as the outside was too crisp with the original time. Served it with sour cream, lettuce, and salsa. Next time I may cook and shred the chicken the night before to shorten prep time. Will definitely be putting this one in my rotation! Read More

Made this just as written except I brushed the chimis with margarine before cooking. These were a hit with my family. Next time I’ll use a little less chicken in them and add more cheese. Serve with pick, mango salsa, guacamole and sour cream. Read More

This was excellent! I didn't use the chilies or onions as my husband can't eat them and I used egg roll wrappers instead of tortillas; otherwise made as is. My husband said don't change a thing so I'll definitely be making these again. Read More

My family likes beef chimichanga better than chicken, so I slow roasted a beef roast, shredded it and made the recipe as directed. Served it with fiesta ranch , salsa, and fresh tomatoes. It was a success. I was surprised at how perfectly crispy the tortilla was. It’s going on the rotation. Read More

These tasted amazing!!!!!!! I precooked the chicken like it was recommended to cut down on cooking time. I put my chicken in the crock pot while I was at work. When I came home I shredded the chicken and followed receipe as is. I did have to adjust my cooking time to 5 mins. Overall perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. Read More
