  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease three 7- or 8-inch pie pans. 1

  • Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Mix in oil, followed by milk. Spread evenly into the prepared pans. Sprinkle white sugar and cinnamon over each.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of each cake comes out clean, about 35 minutes.

I scaled this down to 6 servings (1/3 of the recipe) and followed the recipe precisely. Note for others, the batter is very thick, not like a normal cake batter.
