  • Combine crackers, pretzels, cereal squares, and peanuts in a large bowl. Slowly drizzle oil over cracker mixture and gently stir mixture with your hands until well coated, adding more oil, if necessary.

  • Combine barbecue seasoning and paprika in a small bowl. Add to cracker mixture and toss gently until coated. Spread out on a baking sheet.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Allow to fully cool before serving or storing.

Cook's Notes:

Try using pecans instead of honey roasted peanuts! You can experiment with different BBQ mixes. Some tend to be sweeter or saltier than others.

You may need more oil to fully coat the snack mix and to help the spice mixture stick to the pieces.

Very tasty! I will say that it is important to pay attention to the cook's notes as BBQ seasonings can differ greatly. I used McCormick BBQ seasoning and the mix was really lacking any sweetness. I ended up melting brown sugar a little salt and butter together tossing it with the not-sweet-enough snack mix and throwing it back in the oven at 250 for 45 minutes (tossing every 15 minutes). Totally corrected for the seasoning issue! Read More

The key is to use the right seasoning ... I did not My seasoning completely overpowered everything. Even the honey peanuts had no trace of sweet. I baked mine in a convection oven for 15 minutes... it burned. I'll probably try this again but will have to test some seasonings first. Hopefully other reviews will have some good sesoning tips.
