- Place cocoa and cinnamon into a medium pot. Add 1/4 cup hot water and whisk over medium heat until fully combined. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring continuously, for 2 minutes.
- Stir heavy cream into the mixture, followed by remaining water and sweetener. Continue to cook and stir over medium heat, making sure it does not boil, until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes.

- Optional: Remove the pot from the heat when heated through and beat with an electric hand mixer in the pot (try doing it in the sink to minimize any mess). This helps combine and thicken the ingredients just a bit to give a nice froth.
