  1. Heat oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat. Add jackfruit, onion, and garlic powder. Saute, stirring frequently, until brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in barbecue sauce. Reduce heat and let simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Season with black pepper, cayenne, and salt.
