"I love sausage, I'll eat it at breakfast and I'm known to put sausage in my chili, as well as blends of sausage and turkey, sausage and beef, and sausage and veal. This seasoning blend works beautifully with a combination of ground pork and ground turkey."

  1. Combine sage, salt, marjoram, savory, black pepper, smoked sugar, mace, cinnamon, and red pepper flakes together in a small bowl. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.


  • Cook's Notes:
  • To make breakfast sausage: Combine 1 1/2 pounds ground pork, 1 pound ground turkey, and seasoning mix. Allow flavors to develop overnight in the refrigerator.
  • If you don't have the whiskey barrel smoked sugar, feel free to omit it. While brown sugar may be used, it will give a different flavor.
