Directions

  • Cover and cook on High until meat is easily shredded with 2 forks, about 6 hours, or on Low for 12 hours.

Cook's Notes:

If your roast is frozen, be sure to defrost it first.

You can use any BBQ sauce that you prefer. You can also use 3 tablespoons garlic powder instead of fresh garlic.

It does not matter how big the pork roast is. If it is bigger than1 pound, then add more BBQ sauce, making sure that everything is covered.

This was fun to make and delicious to eat. I’d monitor its progress; it didn’t take as long as the recipe indicated. And we ended up with a lot of “jus” because the meat sweated a lot. Read More

Made using Idaho potatoes instead of sweet potatoes and cut thick as another rater had suggested. Pork turned out very tender. Flavor was a little off though. Potatoes also turned out a little too sweet and tasted just like the pork. Too much sweet. I will try it again and use a different BBQ sauce and maybe cook the potatoes separately or add the sauce at a later time. Will probably turn out better next time with a different BBQ sauce. This came out delicious!! No changes necessary!! My whole family loved it on some good brioche rolls with some coleslaw on it. My father-in-law said it was the best he's ever had! Read More
