  1. Combine balsamic vinegar and basil in a bowl. Pour in olive oil slowly while whisking constantly.
  2. Place tomatoes and mozzarella in a bowl. Pour vinaigrette over the top. Season with salt and pepper and toss together.

  • If serving as an appetizer, leave basil leaves whole.

It doesn't get much better than fresh heirlooms, basil, mozzarella, olive oil, and balsamic! I served this as an appetizer, so I sliced the heirlooms instead of dicing, and left the basil whole....
