Tasty! What I like about this sauce is that it makes enough for just 1 pizza, since I don’t normally need more than that. I love the addition of the red wine and crushed pepper; they add wonderful layers of flavor. There's subtle heat, but not too spicy. Make sure to finely mince your onion, unless you want big chunks in your sauce. Alternately, you could always blend the sauce at the end. I thought all this needed was a pinch of salt.
I followed the recipe, but added a little sugar (1 tsp.) and about a tablespoon of tomato paste. I was surprised it was so good! Next time, I would leave out the red pepper flakes. A little too spicy for me.
