This easy dish is one of our favorite summertime meals, fresh green beans and potatoes thrown in a slow cooker!

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

  • 1 pound small new potatoes, halved

  • water to cover

  • 2 (1 inch) cubes salt pork, or more to taste


  1. Gather all ingredients.

  2. Layer green beans and potatoes in the bottom of a slow cooker. Add just enough water to barely cover. Top with salt pork.

  3. Cover and cook on Low until tender, 6 to 8 hours.
