Agua Fresca de Sandia (Watermelon Agua Fresca)

A typical agua fresca served throughout Mexico. Serve cold and over ice. Very refreshing.

  • 3 cups water, divided

  • 1 medium seedless watermelon

  • cup sugar, or more to taste


  1. Cut watermelon into small pieces and place in a blender. Add 1 cup water and 1/8 cup sugar; puree until smooth. Pour into a pitcher.

  2. Add remaining 2 cups water. Sweeten with additional sugar, to taste.
