Great recipe, used pepper jack Monterrey cheese for some flavor boost. This recipe calls for neither potatoes nor politics. It’s a cooking site, not the Washington Post.
Read MoreDespite the fact that I like all of the ingredients that went into this casserole, I was disappointed with the outcome. It was dry and bland. I couldn't really taste the Ranch dressing mix at all. I should have cut the amount of servings to 4 because now I have a lot of left-overs, but it does "hold body and soul together" so we will eat it eventually.

Very delicious. Just finished making it and really enjoyed it. Even my 6 y.o., who is a picky eater, ate his whole serving. Would definitely make again.
I was in a big hurry so left out the chicken, but added a little extra bacon and my husband really liked this. Will make again and will probably leave the chicken out again, since we have a couple of "favorite" ways we make chicken. We only eat organic chicken and sometimes our health food store is out of it by the time I get there. Will have to start using more pasta in recipes, too because yesterday I went to the grocery store (I was in a hurry so I just shopped at a nearby regular store, not an organic based operation) and I had to pay $5.40 for 5 lbs of red potatoes! Imagine that. We used to get them just last year for about $1.99 for 5 pounds. Good grief, can't afford to eat any longer! These people are pricing themselves right out of business and soon only the rich will be able to survive. Do you suppose that's the plan?? Then again, pasta isn't cheap anymore either. Yikes.
If I could give this a 6th star, I probably would. Definitely was easier to have two of us working together to make the dish. But it was incredibly good.
I enjoyed this. Next time I may add some peas, small broccoli, diced carrots.
I have already made this twice within the two weeks that I have been at my son and daughter in law's place. They all loved it and my grandchildren cleaned their plates. I thoroughly enjoyed making it and more importantly I loved watching my family eat dinner.
This was FANTASTIC! The entire family loved it. I threw a couple chicken breasts with salt and pepper in the crockpot around noon. Cooked them for a few hours then shredded them. This was a nice change from the usual casserole that I make using cream of chicken soup. I did crush some ritz crackers mixed with melted butter to add on top. Will definitely make this again!

Our whole household liked it a lot. I had to make a couple changes, there wasn't any plain cream cheese at the store when I went to get the ingredients so I used the Philadelphia's Garlic and Herb cream cheese which added a nice taste to it. I ended up making a whole pound of bacon and crumbled 8 in the casserole and 4 on top. I had to use sharp cheddar since I'm not a huge fan of Monterey Jack. I also used 3 small chicken breasts instead of 2. My hubby instantly said he'd want me to make this again so I probably will. It tasted great, smelled great, and made me happy for leftover lol.
This was delicious! I have been looking to change up my pasta bakes and this one was definitely a winner! I think the only change I made was adding more bacon on top.
Super delicious and so easy to make! Will definitely make it again!
I’ve made this quite a few times. My kids love it! It’s quick, easy and inexpensive. The only adjustment I made was to put less butter, about 3/4 of a stick instead. Other than that it’s great and goes great with garlic cheese bread!
It was pretty good. I would not call it fast. I used rotisserie chicken and fresh bacon. Everyone at the tablet liked it but its not the first pick due to the multiple pans and time it took.
Very good recipe for using leftover roasted chicken breasts. My husband loved it ! He took leftovers to work for lunch, as well. I loved it too ! At first I thought 8 slices of bacon would be too much, so I only cooked 5 slices. Should have stuck to the recipe and used all 8. Oh well … there's always next time !
I made this for dinner tonight. Very delicious. Will definitely make again!
We all loved this! Thanks for a great recipe. The only thing I did different was I used pepper jack, only because I didn’t have Monterey.
Really good, added in some cauliflower, topped with some ritz cracker crumbles and red pepper flakes. It is missing a ranch kick. I would add a packet of ranch dressing seasoning next time. I do plan on adding some ranch dressing onto my left overs so it will work out anyways.
Definitely a keeper. Like another reviewer said- not a quick meal but very tasty. Not sure about reheating- afraid it will dry out.....oh, and I used elbow noodles, didn't have bowties.
My husband and I made this and thought it was really good. My husband is diabetic so we used vegetable rotini instead of farfalle as we could not find vegetable farfalle but we did not make other changes. This is a keeper and will be placed in our meal rotation plan.
Will make this again but I will cook the bacon and chicken beforehand to save time and easier clean up.
I followed the recipe ALMOST exactly....only added cooked frozen peas and used shredded chicken made the day before. Next time I'll reduce the pasta or increase the sauce as I like my casseroles a little more moist. However, maybe I added to much shredded chicken and it absorbed the sauce? In any event, it was great!!
I tried this last week for the first time and it was amazing! I am making it again tonight. It was easy and delicious! So happy I found this recipe.
