  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.

  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Add yogurt and buttermilk and mix, adding more buttermilk if needed, until batter is wet, shiny, and sticky.

  • Drop 1/4 cup-sized mounds of batter onto the prepared baking sheet at 1-inch intervals.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, 10 to 15 minutes.

Cook's Note:

You can substitute regular milk for buttermilk, if desired.

This is a quick and simple recipe for homemade biscuits. They came out a little chewier and denser than I had hoped. I did only use about 6 oz of yogurt and added a little more buttermilk. The flavor was a bit bland - maybe up the salt just a bit or add additional ingredients (cheese, herbs, etc.) Overall not bad if the biscuit is just meant to be the vehicle for something else (like sausage gravy). I will likely try this recipe again with a few tweaks. Read More
