I've been experimenting with tropical fruit and sapote is really interesting. Its pulp is like chocolate pudding. This recipe is really simple and lets the black sapote shine. It's pure creamy, chocolaty goodness.

  • Combine sapote, ice, and almond milk in a blender; blend until smooth.

Cook's Notes:

Sapote is ripe when it starts to leak a black juice. You can leave it on your counter for quite a while until it's ready to go.

I'm not sure I bought the right fruit. The grocer assured me they were the same thing but now I'm doubting it. I bought mamey sapote not black sapote. Nonetheless this smoothie was delicious with the mamey sapote. I must look for the black sapote and try this recipe with the right fruit. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Read More
