Ingredient Checklist

Directions

Instructions Checklist
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  • Mix honey, hoisin sauce, ketchup, orange juice, mustard, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, orange zest, and cayenne pepper together in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add chicken thighs and coat with the mixture. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, basting at least 3 times. Remove foil and continue baking, uncovered, until chicken is browned on top, about 15 minutes.

Cook's Notes:

Adjust the cayenne pepper to your own liking or leave it out altogether.

If you feel that the sauce is baking off too fast, add a little bit of water or chicken stock. You should end up with a nice thick sauce around the chicken, not something the chicken will be swimming in.

Too much sauce floating in the pan. Removed the foil after 30 min and removed as much juice as possible. Maybe the recipe should say use skinless thighs. I think the excess juice came from the skin fat into the sauce. Read More
