Shawarma Seasoning


Mix the Middle Eastern shawarma classic seasoning yourself. This version has a little lighter clove flavor.

  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoons ground black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons ground allspice

  • 1 tablespoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon ground cardamom

  • ½ tablespoon chili powder

  • ½ tablespoon dried oregano

  • ½ tablespoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons ground cloves


  1. Mix garlic powder, black pepper, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, chili powder, oregano, salt, and cloves together in a bowl.

Cook's Note:

First cover lamb or chicken in olive oil before adding seasoning mix. Allow to marinate for one hour or longer.
