- Combine butter, shortening, and cream cheese in a bowl; beat with an electric mixer until creamy. Add vanilla extract and salt. Beat in confectioners' sugar, 1 cup at a time, until well incorporated. Add enough heavy cream to thin frosting to desired consistency. Fold in crushed cookies.
