This is a great recipe. I doctored it up a little bit, not much, but it was truly amazing. I used green chile olive oil, which gave it a bit of a kick, and used 12 oz carrots and 12 oz Brussels sprouts. I also spread whole rosemary stalks around the pan instead of chopping it. And instead of parsley I sprinkled chopped fresh chives and drizzled half of a lemon over everything. 450 degrees was a little high and a couple of the onions burned, but overall it was delish! I'll use 425 next time, I think. The sweetness of the apple really complemented the sausage and the veggies. My man loved it! It's definitely a keeper. I think the green chile oil made a big difference, and all the flavors really blended well. It's a nice recipe to experiment with as well, maybe adding potatoes and other root vegetables, and different oils and seasonings.

Made it tonight and both my boyfriend and I loved it. I added fingerling potato’s and parsnips and cooked those at 425 for about 15 mins ahead of everything else to make sure they were done. I also doubled the rosemary, added 2 tsp of garlic salt, 2 tsp of herbs de providence and omitted the regular salt. Definitely a recipe to keep.
Excellent recipe, the only changes I made was to add sweet potato and instead of lemon juice, I drizzled honey over the top of the caramelized veggies. I will absolutely make this again. Thanks for the recipe!
This was easy, delicious, and pretty! I resisted the urge to add anything and it was perfect as is. Will definitely make it again.
I really hate it when people make many changes to a recipe then rate it. Let me just say that this recipe is a blueprint for any combination of vegetables and sausage. :-)
Made it for the second time. With or without sausage worked fine. If you need to switch out one of the vegetables go ahead, it works out well. This recipe is a keeper.
This was great - and had the added benefit of having three of my six children claiming they loved Brussels sprouts. I made it as is and it does have a tendency to stick, so watch that. Otherwise, I give it my wholehearted endorsement.
I've looked for easy prepared meals that don't take everything in the kitchen to make. And all crockpot meals that are easy simple and not have to worry about it.This Webb page is exactly what I wanted.100 stars for this one.Thanks.Donald
This was very good. I used Chicken apple sausage, potatoes and yellow and red peppers in addition to the carrots, onions, and apples. I loved the caramelization after the broiling.
It got too done under the broiler. Next time I make it, I'll try putting everything in at the same time and don't broil. I substituted potatoes for brussels sprouts since I didn't have any, and put the potatoes in the oven at 425 before adding everything else and bumping the temp up to 450. Really tasty and easy.
My family loves smoked sausage and loved this recipe. I will definitely be making it again.
Basic sheet pan supper. Great fall/ winter dish. I tossed the vegetables in olive oil, some hot sauce and a tbsp of Maple Syrup to kick up the flavours a bit.
This is an excellent recipe! I made it exactly as directed with no changes and it was fabulous! Kudos!
Loved this. Based on blandness others commented on made a few adjustments. To oil rub mixture added 1 t. dried parsley and 1 t. garlic powder and after coating veggies in bowl sealed them in a quart baggie and put in fridge for a few hours turning a couple times. Did everything else exactly as recipe called for and even my picky husband loved it. Great recipe and very simple!
Very easy to make. I used two onions and added halved baby potatoes. I thought the apple was a nice touch. Will make again.
Pretty good meal. Easy to make and tastes good! Will definitely be making it again
Just made this and it was a hit! Sooo easy! Added fresh green beans to the carrots and Brussel Sprouts. And doubled the sausage. Excellent! Others said the Broil at the end with the apple slices caused some burning, but we did not have that problem; however our oven has a LOW or HIGH Broil option and we used the LOW broil setting.
I liked this recipe but had to substitute parsnips for Brussels sprouts because that's what I had. Added 1 russet potato and 1 sweet potato per other reviewers. Left out the lemon. Used Hillshire Smoked Applewood chicken kiebasa. Roasted at 425 degrees for 40 minutes turning once. No broiler. I know changing the recipe so much drives some people crazy but I think it's the beauty of Allrecipes. You can get ideas about what to cook and make it your own.
Fabulous blend of flavors. The lemon at the end of roasting is a must! I followed the recipe exactly and got rave reviews from my guys. My son asked if I could add red potatoes next time. I’ll try by following other reviewers advice to bake or slightly cook ahead of the vegetables.
Yummy! I have tried changing the ingredients too. Still yummy.
Some might disagree, maybe because they don’t like sausage or because they hate Brussels sprouts, but this was a great, easy dinner. I didn’t have Brussels sprouts, so used Delicata squash instead. Paired with the apple, the squash and the hickory smoked chicken sausage were outstanding.
Perfect for a cool fall dinner! I added some small creamer potatoes, yummy
Great dish! I don't broil as it gets burned in my oven, but cooking all at the same time works well.
This was delicious and well worth making. I added 1 sweet potatoe, a small bulb of fennel, zucchini and tossed at the end with a balsamic reduction. Next time I will add parsnips as well. I made a side of rice for the kids too.
I added sweet and baby Yukon potatoes and an orange pepper. My husband said Make This Every Week!
I had it in oven 35 min and added small potatoes to it. I've made it twice and gotten great reviews!
Only change was I added a dash of crushed red pepper flakes as some reviewers said it was slightly bland. Will make again.
Rave reviews from my family! They asked me to keep this one on file!!
My husband is raving over it. I substituted asparagus for the Brussels sprouts. I’m thinking maybe next time will add some potato chunks to it as well. I used turkey smoked sausage .
I've made this with Apples and without, both versions are still delicious, and I like how easy it is.
Surprised my wife with this dish for dinner tonight. Added a few of those tiny potatoes halved (microwaved them for a few minutes first) and used chicken habanero sausage since she is not fond of smoked sausage or Italian sausage. Other than that, followed recipe as written. We really loved it! i'll be making this again for sure. So easy, but great flavor. Enough left over to take to lunch tomorrow. Try it!
. Used mild homemade chicken sausages. Quite a bit of flavour but not spicey. Maybe try hot spicey sausage next time.
I liked the ingredients in this recipe. It just looked so inviting, so I thought I'd give it a try. I used everything the recipe called for, except parsley, which I didn't have. I used frozen brussells sprouts, baby carrots, red oninon & apple. I cooked it exactly as the recipe called for, and it tast.ed delicious! The only thing I would cut back on is the olive oil. I think I would use just 2 tbls instead of 3. So good and so healthy!
I've made this a couple of times, with only a couple of changes. First, I don't preheat the pan because I bake it about 10 minutes longer - I add in a bit of chopped potato. Also don't use the lemon because I never seem to have on on hand.
It was a great recipe. I used my flavored olive oil. I’d use a lower heat next time as they cooked too fast and dark. Flavor was still awesome!
Great recipe!! Did add garlic cloves and garlic salt. Really good blend of flavors. Will definitely make again.
Made it exactly as written except there was no Hilshire Farms here so I used the locally available sausage. It as fabulous and my husband who doesn't eat vegetables said he could gorge on it. We had it two nights in a row since I had enough veggies. Will be in our consistent rotation.
This is one of our go to favorites now. Easy to prepare, smells great, taste flavorful, & looks pretty on the table. I service it with flavored rice & crusty rolls. Quick & easy.
Adding the lemon at the end really makes the Brussels sprouts pop in this dish. I did take another reviewer's suggestion to reduce the cooking temperature to 425 in order to keep the veggies from burning and that worked well. Would definitely make again. Easy clean up on a weeknight.
This was a quick, flavorful meal with easy prep and clean up. I had to used dried rosemary in lieu of fresh, and it was still very flavorful. I added a few small gold potatoes, just because I had some on hand. Cook times were spot on for my oven.
This was DELICIOUS. The only change I made was to add honey instead of the lemon as suggested by another reviewer. I will add this to my recipes.
Excellent recipe, added beets and turnips but otherwise made the recipe per the instructions. Everyone loved it!
My wife is in love with this dish. We decreased the onions and increased the carrots and was perfect for our tastes.

I took the advice of one of the other users and roasted some fingerling potatoes for 15 minutes ahead of time. I also had a spare bulb of fresh fennel sitting in the fridge and threw that in which gave it a really nice flavor and wow! I really enjoy how veggie forward this recipe is and how the saltiness and sweetness comes together with the rosemary. I will definitely be making this again.
Every time, this is a great basis for dinner. I switch out different meats, I use thawed out frozen vegetables. I could eat this several times a week!
I added potatoes and took away the brussel sprouts, and it was still delicious. I overcooked my apples but if you keep a good eye on them you can prevent it. Delicious, hearty and has a nice sweet touch
This is a simple recipe that pays off with a great result!! I followed the steps as written, making one substitution of using sliced rainbow carrots in place of baby carrots. We happened to have Hillshire Farm Cajun Style Andouille Smoked Sausage, and the nice touch of heat balanced well with the sweetness from the apple. I can see switching out the veggies depending on what is in season and on hand. We will definitely enjoy this again!
This was easy and delicious. I did add some red and orange peppers, parsnips, turnips and red potatoes. I cooked the added parsnips, turnips and potatoes for 20 minutes before I added to remaining ingredients. Will make this more often.
This is a great recipe that you can easily customize to your preferences. I have made it several times, once exactly as written, and I have also substituted the vegetables, including parsnips, yellow onions, baby carrots, and small red bliss potatoes in different batches because it was what I had on hand. I find that the broiler added too much color for my liking (my broiler runs hot), so I usually add the apple and cook for another ten minutes at 450. Definitely keep an eye on it once you put it under the broiler. I like to substitute turkey rope kielbasa (I get mine at Aldi) for a lower calorie alternative. This is an excellent recipe for meal prep as well.
Turned out perfect. I used sliced carrots and it worked out great.
Yummy healthy. Let’s face it you can add any root veggie to this. I added sweet potato and parsnips. Made 2 tray fulls on parchment (no clean up) and my daughter can add her vegetarian sausage to a pan for meals all next week!
I used turnips, beets, onions, green beans, mushrooms, and carrots. Along with apple and pear. And of course sausage with spinach and feta cheese. It turned out wonderfully delicious! I plan to make this dish again.
This is delicious. Will definitely make it again. I used regular carrots cut lengthwise and either in half or thirds, depending how long they were.
The perfect blend of fat, salt, heat, and acid for an autumn dinner. The drizzle of freshly squeezed lemon juice at the end makes all the difference. Delicious!
Who knew apples and sausage taste so well together! Broccoli is a great addition as well.
This was absolutely every bit as good as I had hoped it would be! The only thing I changed was the brand of sausage. I don't care for the manufactured taste of Hillshire Farms so I used a local artisan chicken sausage. I added a little time to the cooking by broiling it for 10 minutes, stirring it and broiling another 5 minutes. Fantastic recipe. Thank you
My husband loves this recipe. Have made it twice and I substitute sweet potatoes for the carrots since he loves them and is not fond of cooked carrots. I just cube them to about the size of the brussel sprouts, and they cook perfectly with everything else. So easy to make and easy clean up with some foil on the sheet pan. Will be making this again and again!
Super good and easy. I substituted potatoes and peppers for Brussel sprouts, and had so many veggies I didn't need the apple. Added garlic along with it, and oh, so good and easy.
This sausage stirfry was absolutely easy and absolutely amazing! It will definitely be a regular!
This was delicious! Very simple to make. Will definitely make this again
This was amazing -- and so easy! The whole family loved it, no left-overs. I used kielbasa, some other apple variety, and about half the rosemary, as that's all we had, and it was still delicious. I'll definitely be adding this meal to our regular rotation.
Easy and good. Hoping the leftovers will be good this week for lunch at work!
Fantastic! Made it for my friends on Saturday night! Was so tasty! Will definitely make this again!!
This was amazing and I got tons of compliments - I made it for a dinner for a large group of people and didn't change a thing on the recipe.
I have done this 2x . The changes to make this great were 425 for 45 minutes adding the sausage on the last 20 I also removed rosemary and added 1 tablespoon maple syrup to all the veggie and the apple at the beginning no need to broil .
The recipe was easy to make and tasty. We used turkey sausage and it turned out with a nice crisp. The apples were a good addition; I might add more next time.
Excellent! Every bite was devoured! I did get the pan a little too close to the broiler and a few pieces got crunchy, but it didn’t stop us! Still delicious! Am preparing it again this week. Thanks for this delicious, easy recipe!
Incredible dish. Love the combination of salt, sweet, hearty, healthy, veggie, fruit, and just all around goodness. We doubled the amount of sausage and that made it perfect for us. Will make over and over again. I also think this would be good for a potluck if made the night before and reheated in a crockpot.
Oooohhh soooo yummy! We made it exactly as is and LOVED it, making it again tonight and going to add potatoes but that’s the only change!! This is an excellent recipe!
Loved this dish. I followed the directions as they were written and was really impressed with the great taste. I don't often have Brussel sprouts (ok...never), so it was nice preparing a dish that featured them. I'll make this again, for sure.
Olive oil smoke point is 330. Do NOT cook with olive oil above that. And you should not use olive oil which is for sure extra virgin to cook that high. I put the olive oil on after cooking to retain the polyphenols
This was super! The kids liked it too. Made exactly as the recipe states only took it out after 15 minutes and broiled the apples alone as the brussels were already quite brown. So quick and easy too. Will keep in the rotation.
Awesome! Quick and easy to make. Very nice blend of veggies, and the lemon and parsley topping really makes it special.
This was amazing and I got tons of compliments - I made it for a dinner for a large group of people and didn't change a thing on the recipe.
I used fresh brocolli, Eckrich smoked pork/turkey/beef sausage, 1 sliced red pepper, 1 large apple, 1 green zucchini, red onion. Mixed all in a large bowl with seasonings in recipe and 5 or 6 tbsp. olive oil plus 2 tsp. garlic powder. Preheated sheet pan and spread everything out on pan then roasted for 25 minutes at 425 degrees. I did not broil! Turned out perfect and absolutely delicious! Like another reviewer said, this recipe is so versatile and you can use just about any veggies.
I thought this was really good even though I had to use dried herbs instead of fresh. Also, I used potatoes instead of brussel sprouts. It was very tasty. My family did not like the apples in the dish, but I loved them.
This is delicious. My only advice would be to double it! Made it tonight exactly as written, actually now I realize I omitted the parsley... Regardless, it was delicious. Have got kids at home ranging from 10 months - 4 years, plus a neighbor over who was 10. All devoured it and asked for more. Quick, simple and good enough for company!
This was delicious. I added potatoes to the veggies. my husband who hates brussel sprouts said they weren't bad this way. I did have to use dried rosemary and skipped the parsley since I couldn't find any. Really enjoyed the sweetness from the apple
We really loved this recipe. It's so quick and easy to make. Its a delicious recipe with the addition of the apples. Just remember that if you replace any of the veggies with another that the cook time might be different. We used yams, and they took much longer. The sausage cooked a little too long because of them.
