  1. Bring 2 1/2 cups water to a boil in a pot. Combine 1 1/4 cups water, cashews, cornstarch, soy sauce, brewers' yeast, onion powder, lemon juice, basil, garlic powder, salt, and rosemary in a blender and process until smooth. Pour mixture into the boiling water in the pot.
  2. Use remaining 1/4 cup water to rinse out blender and add to mixture in the pot. Cook gravy until thickened, 5 to 7 minutes.

  • You can use almonds or Brazil nuts in place of cashews.

I love this gravy. So easy to make and so tasty. Mine seemed a little too thick, but hey you also can thin it out. Very good. The perfect gravy for lots of things.

Wow! This was a wonderful surprise. It’s flavorful, thick and creamy as well as super easy. I used it with some tvp meatballs. This would even be good on biscuits. Thank you for the recipe.
