YUM! These are wonderful cookies. I didn't change anything and they baked perfectly in about 12 minutes for me. I've eaten 4 already and the dough isn't all baked yet! I'm estimating I'll have somewhere between 3 and 4 dozen cookies just about what the recipe said. This one is a real winner. Try it you won't regret it!
I measured all my ingredients and found that the dough had too much flour. The cookies were rather dry and didn't spread enough. I like mine more like chocolate chip cookies which uses 2 1/4 cups of flour ( I also add 1/4 c. of oatmeal).
I added an extra T. of coffee.
The dough didn't taste much like coffee and the cardamom taste was almost non existent.
FYI: I love the taste of cardamom and use it in coffee bread and a buttermilk cake.
10 Minutes was too short and 15 minutes was too long to bake. I settled on 3 minutes.
Would I make them again. No.
OK, I’m giving this recipe for stars just for the flavor combination! My dear Nana, may she rest in peace, would have been ape- crazy over these! While other reviewers say they couldn’t taste the coffee, I did not have instant espresso powder, so I used a shot of espresso and a few of the grounds instead, so maybe that’s why I am tasting it more? Next time I might up both the cardamom and the cinnamon, only because I’m crazy about both. And while I measured every ingredient exactly, I found that this recipe DEFINITELY calls for too much flour, to the point that I’m wondering if there is a typo since my cookies also didn’t spread the way they should have per the photos? Next time I will start with at least one cup less and try that. I would definitely try these again to see if I can get them perfected!
Delicious, addictive cookies! My only change was to substitute toll house expresso morsels for the chocolate chips. I'd halved the recipe, not knowing how it would taste. I wish I'd doubled it instead!
