  1. Pour drained green beans into a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.
  2. Add butter and cream cheese to the saucepan with the green beans. Stir until melted and well incorporated, 3 to 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.


  • Cook's Notes:
  • Fresh green beans can be used in place of canned.
  • For a lower-calorie version, Neufchatel cheese can be used in place of cream cheese.

Used fresh green beans and will definitely make this again!

I am the submitter of this recipe and I can see where the confusion is. It should read: 'drain most of the water and bring to a boil'.
