This is one reason I love my Instant Pot®. I can pull a frozen ham from the freezer, put it in the Instant Pot® with just 3 ingredients and, with almost no effort, have dinner on the table.

Ingredient Checklist

Directions

Instructions Checklist
  • Place ham on a trivet and set it inside a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®). Pour crushed pineapple over ham. Sprinkle brown sugar and drizzle maple syrup on top. Secure the lid with vent closed.

  • Select high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 35 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.

  • Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, 10 to 40 minutes. Remove ham and trivet. Cut ham into slices and place on a plate.

  • Select Saute setting on the pressure cooker. Mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Stir mixture into the pot, bring to a boil, and stir until thickened. Pour sauce over the ham.

Cook's Note:

Weight of the ham may vary; use any size you can fit on the trivet in the pot.

I'm rather impressed with having a frozen ham into a cooked ham in a short amount of time. I had pineapple rings on hand which worked just perfect. I would recommend more cornstarch for a thicker sauce but that's a preference thing. Would make again and could fit an even bigger ham if needed. Read More

So thankful to find this excellent recipe for a frozen ham. I didn t have pineapple so I added 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup water. I also used honey instead of maple syrup. The ham was very tender and delicious. It took about 30 minutes for a natural release but I m sure this time varies according to the ingredients used. Read More

This recipe saved my bacon tonight (pun fully intended)! I followed the recipe pretty much as written except I added 2 T. of water before sealing the Instant Pot and I had to use commercial pancake syrup in place of maple syrup. It was very tasty, made my 1.4 kg ham in the time indicated, and the sauce was very good. I'll definitely be using this recipe again. Read More
