Turned out great. Even my better-half loved it. We had a second and third go at it in three days. Had a visitor on the second day (my wife's sister) and she also loved it. A great snack it seems for everyone.
This was a delicious snack and easy snack! I thought the sauce was too sweet with the honey, so, next time I will just leave it out. Thanks for the recipe!
These are so easy to make and really good. I reduced the amount as it’s just my husband and I. That’s the beauty of this recipe, cause you just freeze the leftover sausage for another time. The brown sugar caramelizes on the bottom of the slices and it’s heaven. The sauce is tasty and perfect with the sausage slices. Great recipe!
DELICIOUS! I started out by making a half batch and it was so great and snackable that I immediately made the rest of them. This does make a LOT of (very, very delicious) dip, I think I might halve the amount of dip next time to avoid leftovers, though it would be yummy on sandwiches or wraps too!
This was a great recipe. We really enjoyed the flavor of the Smoked Sausage combined with the sweetness of the brown sugar. The honey mustard dipping sauce was a nice addition.
Delicious and easy to prepare! Look out game night snacks, I not a winner.
Delicious and easy to make with pantry staples. To save time I skipped the freezer part then baked for 16 minutes (instead of 20), and it turned out great. I also halved the sauce, and it was the perfect amount (in case you’re trying to save ingredients right now like I am).
I will make these for my grandkids, I gave it 5 stars because I liked the ingredients and know what my grandkids like.
This was a fun, easy to make snack. I think the next time I make it, I will cut back on the mayo a bit and add more mustard. It was a tad too sweet with the carmelized sausage.
This was great! I made this as a meal and warmed up the honey mustard sauce. Kids loved it!
We all in my family enjoyed this snack a lot, it didn't last 5 minutes! I thought it was going to be pretty sweet but I was wrong, the sugar gave some crispiness to the sausages and the dip was amazing. I put the sausages under the grill for a few minutes (low temperature) to caramelize them a little bit more.
You can’t go wrong with a super tasty and easy snack! A great combination of sweetness from the sauce and the smokiness of the sausage. My husband and kids couldn’t get enough!
I made the sauce as written, it was very good. I did not prepare the sausage as written. I cut in in half and grilled it until hot and browned. We had this for dinner, Served it with baked beans. Will make it again the same way.
Delicious. I made the mistake of not reading the recipe completely before I started and consequently I added the brown sugar to the honey mustard sauce. Great mistake! The sauce was so tasty and very reminiscent of the sauce from that famous chicken restaurant. I went ahead and still added more brown sugar to my sausage. Great afternoon snack. Will make this again.
I liked the interesting spin of adding brown sugar to make a sweet and salty appetizer. For ease, I used the bake function on my air fryer and they are done in 5-7 minutes per tray. The dip, no one really cared for. I think more of a spicy mustard would have been better. This dip tasted more like mayo. I will more likely make the sausage with brown sugar again though for an easy appetizer. Ty, so much.
Delicious and oh so easy! I was a bit skeptical with the sweetness on the sausage and in the dip, but it was perfect as written. Marking this as a favorite! Extra sauce would be good to use when making deviled eggs!
Interesting twist to an old classic. A little sweet for my personal taste, but the kids gobbled them up! I do agree the sauce is fantastic, but you could easily half the amount & have plenty.
These were delicious and so very easy to throw together. They would be perfect for a surprise guest or late night snack. The brown sugar on the Hillshire Sausage added the perfect sweetness! I skipped the freezer to save time and they still turned out wonderful. Next time I may slice the sausages to fit on a bun with this honey mustard! Yum!
I made these for my husband to enjoy after eating off and on all day. They were filling for him and he loved the dipping sauce. Next time we may cut down on the mustard a tad but otherwise, perfect. Love the brown sugar topping, too!
I cut the recipe back quite a way for just the two of us. This was really a delicious little snack! I agree with someone else who said that when football season comes along again that this will be a perfect appy to serve! I think next time I will turn up the oven heat because I would have liked for a little more "burn" to the sausage, though one can't argue with what we had tonight. With the little leftover sauce, I coated my chicken tenders, dipped them with crushed Rice Krispies and then fried them in butter and olive oil. So what a wonderful evening! Thanks, Hillshire Farms!
Loved this! I honestly thought this would be too sweet for my tastes but it was perfect. The combination of flavors was excellent and this will be what I take to my next food day at work. I did broil them for a few minutes but only because I like my sausage really brown. You really can't go wrong with this recipe. I can't imagine they would last long at any type of party. 5 stars all the way!
Loved the addition of brown sugar! My family enjoyed it. We're not big honey mustard fans in general but we will make the sausage with brown sugar again since we love bacon made that way too.
Fun way snack or appetizer to please all! The honey mustard was a perfect balance to even out the slightly sweet glaze that forms on the sausage. I did broil for just a minute or two to get a little more cartelized texture. Next time I will sprinkle a little cayenne on the sausages to give them a kick. Super easy snack and could always have the ingredients on hand if you keep the sausage in your freezer for those times friends pop in.
3.2.20 What a simple, tasty, and quick and easy snack. I’ve used Hillshire Farm® Chicken Hardwood Smoked Sausage (50% less fat) for years, and that’s what I used for this recipe. I spread a sheet of foil out on the baking pan, so cleanup for this recipe also was a breeze. Next time, I’ll cut the sausage just a bit thicker and take out of the oven at 18 minutes (personal taste preference). When football season is in full swing, I can see this as a go-to game day snack. You could make the dipping sauce the day before, cut up additional sausage and store in a zip-top bag, and then when you need more, it’ll be so easy to make another batch. Not only was the sausage delicious, the honey mustard sauce was the perfect partner and strong enough to stand on its own for so many other dishes. This one’s a keeper for sure.
