  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.

  • Toss okra and grapeseed oil in a large bowl. Mix gluten-free flour, paprika, salt, oregano, thyme, chipotle powder, and pepper in a small bowl. Add flour mixture to okra and mix well to combine. Spread in one layer onto the prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Stir and bake until crisp, 10 to 25 minutes more. Remove from the oven and let stand for a few minutes so that the crispy parts release from the foil.

Cook's Note:

Substitute frozen okra with 3 cups sliced fresh okra. You can use any gluten-free flour for this recipe.

For a baked GF and corn-free okra recipe, this was good. I made as-is. We don't need to be CF, but one of us must be GF. The all-purpose flour, like many GF flours, was a bit gritty which is not the fault of the recipe poster. This seems to be a good base. We will try it again with garbanzo flour and maybe an egg dip. Also, we baked another 10 minutes to crisp the outside a bit more. Read More
