It was pretty good, I actually used an Oreo crust that I got from the store instead of making my own. I think it gave it more sweetness which made it extra good!
Read MoreI made as in the recipe but didn't add any nuts to the crust .I also added lemon zest and extract.. not very sweet I think 1 cup of sugar would be better to give it more sweetness .Also not a very thick bar so if you want a thicker bar use a 8x8 pan.

Made as stated, but accidentally put in twice the amount of vanilla extract, which probably detracted from the tartness. I found them, 'ok', but the other people who had them, raved about them. I'd make again, as they were easy enough and good for a crowd.
Made this but the original sugar amount with the cream cheese left this too tart for my crew. Did end up gradually adding sugar to total 1/2 cup. These are excellent. I can see further experimentation with different flavors and spice additions. Will definitely make this again!
This is one of my all time favorites! I use various toppings - try lemon curd or custard for a Spring treat! Cherry or strawberry filling on top for holiday festive look and taste. And, if you feel naughty and daring, caramel, toasted pecans and chocolate drizzle - have mercy!!!
Left out lemon juice because I didn’t have any. Used pecans instead of walnuts in the base. Decided to use maple flavouring instead of vanilla. These were delicious and everyone loved them! Will make again.
Pretty good, but a bit bland. Made as written except used a pan that was a bit smaller (11"x 8") to get thicker bars. I would make it again, but plan to have a fruit/chocolate/caramel topping to make it tastier.
I made this for a dessert after a voice recital event. Most everyone liked it and commented on it. I was not impressed. The recipe did not say when to add the lemon juice, and the flavor of lemon was practically nonexistent. The base did not brown up as they said it should, even though I added more butter than proposed in the recipe. The cheese layer was thin, and probably required twice as much as indicated. It was easy enough to make and bake, but I might try to tweek it the next time I try it.
This is really good! Many of the other reviews spoke about the tartness if the dessert. I did not have a lemon on hand but rather a lime. I only used 1 tbs of lime juice and it really brought out the flavors. I couldn’t imagine using 2tbs. I believe the amount of lemon juice called for is too much. Other than that adjustment, soo good!
This was perfect. I left the sugar the same and only reduced the lime juice. (that's all I had on hand). I didn't want to double it to make it more substantial because our household are all watching our weight and sugar intake. I did not increase the sugar for the same reason. I cut them into tiny serving sizes which is perfect for our different dietary needs. It's a wonderful and tasty little splurge!
I cut this recipe in half and used an 8x8 pan. In the end, there wasn't enough dough, the dough wasn't great, and the bars weren't very sweet and didn't have much flavor. I assumed the lemon juice went in with the cream cheese mix since it wasn't listed in the directions.
One of the other reviewers had said she had doubled the white sugar in the filling to one cup and I followed suit. Next time, I believe I'll double the brown sugar in the crust mixture as well. In any case, we loved it!
My family loved this recipe, it's delicious!! Added some strawberry jam to it and it was even better! This recipe is definitely a keeper!
These were really easy and everyone loved them! Next time I would put 3/4 of the crumbs on the bottom. 1/2 and 1/2 was too many crumbs on the top!
I used macadamia nuts instead of walnuts and more sugar in the crust......also did lemom zest and lemon juice
It's baking! But I think it will be good. I added some lemon zest and cut back on the sugar in the filling just a little maybe two tablespoons... but we like tart versus too sweet! CM, North Carolina
This is a great recipe if you like cheesecake with "more crust" than regular cheesecake. Using parchment paper on the pan will keep it from breaking when serving.
As suggested in one of the reviews I used 1 cup of sugar and baked it in an 8x8 pan baking it longer until done. I omitted the nuts since my son cannot eat them. This a keeper!
I made this to take to a friends house for desert, was a big hit! I added a extra 1/4 cup of sugar and 1teaspoon of lemon zest. I also made it in a 11x7 sized pan.
