This simple twist on green bean casserole uses prepared Alfredo sauce for a base. The green beans and sauce combined with water chestnuts, roasted red peppers, ripe olives, and French-fried onions creates a dish with great flavor, color, and texture. Experiment with your microwave's timing to cook this in a casserole dish for a speedier version that works just as well.

I made this for a church luncheon and I had at least 10 compliments from really good cooks. The twist of using alfredo sauce in lieu of the traditional condensed soup, the crunchy water chestnuts, the roasted red peppers, the ripe olives...made for a colorful and tasty dish. Will make again and again instead of the 'old, overused' green bean casserole!! The picture looks like the old traditional casserole, but it's a different and super taste! Read More
