Honey and Bourbon Holiday Meatballs


"Great appetizer or entree. I make this every Christmas so my kids call them Christmas meatballs. Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer or with mashed potatoes and a salad as an entree."

  1. Combine barbeque sauce, bourbon, honey, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes; add meatballs and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until meatballs are heated through, 25 to 35 minutes.


  • Cook's Note:
  • Sour mash whiskey may be substituted for bourbon, if desired.

Great recipe! We normally like a more traditional meatball recipe, however this was a great change! I used half the amount of honey and I found a hickory barbecue sauce to give it more of a smok...

As written this was way too sweet for us. I highly recommend scaling the honey in half.
