  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking spray. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir until softened, about 6 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, sausage, salt, and pepper; cook until sausage starts to brown, about 8 minutes.
  2. Place grits in a serving bowl; cover with the sausage mixture. Top with hot sauce.

  • Turkey sausage or shrimp may be substituted for the smoked sausage.

I skipped the tomatoes in this dish. I used a non stick pot to sauté the garlic until slightly soft & golden, or you can use mince garlic. Then I use half water & half milk for grits. Pour the w...
